Joint Ventures and Strategic Partnerships

CSG is always looking for ways to innovate in service delivery and opportunities to create value for the public sector. Our understanding of both the public and private sector has allowed us to develop new commercial models and in particular our joint venture model. These are enabling the public sector to both save money and deliver extra value whilst managing risk and providing much needed resources and expertise.

Recruitment Joint Venture

Take back control of temporary and contingent labour supply

Whether to provide holiday cover, sickness or supplement skills shortages the requirement to supplement permanent staff with agency workers is not going away. The traditional outsourced agency managed service business model has delivered efficiencies and savings but it isn’t clear where further savings can be achieved in future. CSG offer an alternative business model that can deliver insourced contingent labour and specialist interims through establishing your own agency.

Joint Ventures

How Joint Ventures work

In collaboration with Kent County Council, CSG created the first publicly owned managed service agency, Connect2Kent back in 2008. Since that initial successful partnership, CSG has with its public sector partners, developed the model further to create a unique public to public JV model that delivers:

• Total flexibility through a proven successful business model
• Shared knowledge and expertise
• Reduced risk through joint financial control and governance
• Quality assured
• Direct savings
• Cost reductions
• Enhanced candidate attraction and retention
• Enhanced Social Value
• Income generation

Our joint venture becomes the equivalent of your managed service provider paying you to fill roles. Insourcing has further benefits allowing you to take control of your Employee Value Proposition, encouraging investment in skills as the opportunity to retain staff grows and helps deliver money back to the council for frontline services. Additional benefits include:

  • Control and governance above and beyond any available from a traditional managed service solution
  • True transparency and compliance to agreed supplier markups
  • Increase in quality and compliance through in-house ownership
  • Full control of your agency supply chain through a compliant DPS Framework

It has been a real pleasure working with the team!”

“We view the JV very much as a true partnership and are seeing the benefits, including having greater transparency around emerging issues and good practice in respect of our agency workforce.”

Carolyn Williamson

Chief Executive and Director of Corporate Resource, Hampshire County Council

“Connect2Dudley is a true partnership between Dudley Council and Commercial Services Group (CSG) to provide high quality, compliant workers at a challenging time in recruitment. The key driver was an income for the Council to reinvest in services. CSG has provided Dudley with the systems and expertise to get the JV up and make it a success. Ten months in, we are overachieving our income targets, have been shortlisted for “Business Start Up of the Year” at the Nachural Awards and more…. It is genuinely a pleasure to work alongside an organisation like CSG”
